Chronic pain is wired differently than acute pain, in that negative, aberrant repetitive pathways have developed over time that no longer serve as a protective symptom. Also, chronic pain is not remedied as effectively by opiate pain management, and may even be worsened (opioid-induced hyperalgesia). These two findings alone have created challenges for the person who suffers from chronic pain and/or who is searching for ways to obtain greater comfort and quality of living. I integrate many varied, effective holistic/integrative tools to help clients more effectively handle their chronic pain and other plaguing symptoms, such as fatigue, anxiety, alteration in sleep patterns, depression, etc. For example, I help people create new positive pathways in their brain (via positive neuroplasticity), which helps override the old repetitive negative, irritating brain wiring. I also have developed some very specific, effective strategies, utilizing imagery and energy work, for clients plagued with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, thereby helping them function better, and with less pain and fatigue, when going out in social gatherings and embracing life.
